I pumped up the tyre again today and seems ok so I think the core was loose hense the slow leak! Ordered some cartridges today so will pass some onto you when your next out!

Rob - did you find out what was going on with the puncture in the end? CO2 canisters are the threadless 16g variety.

I managed a tree/handlebar tankslapper moment and trod on my front wheel, slightly buckling it but nothing a well directed whack and spoke tweak wont fix. I fought off the pixies deep in chicksands wood though.

The legs are not too bad today.

Go on you've twisted my arm, I'm up for Chicksands regardless of weather. Probable route? Bottom of Oliver St across fields to Maulden, through allotments and up the hill to Maulden Church. Through woods to cross A6 in usual place, cross the fields along Old Kiln Lane then up Great Lane and into Chicksand wood. Could meet at A6 crossing or up Great Lane? Couldn't begin to tell you what time though guess would be 7:30?ish?

I do not know if anyone is about this week at all, I am not as it is the girlfriends birthday on saturday, so needless to say that means she wants attention for the rest of the week and her birthday day as well, bloody women!!!!! Anyway we usually meet up every Monday and Wednesday opposite the bakery by the Albion pub at 19:00, we have quite a mixed bunch, with some people being fit and others not so much (like me). We are all up for a laugh and always enjoy heading to the pub after to ruin all the hard work we have just done with a few pints and pub snacks. So come along and get involved

Hi folks,

Newbie here. I moved to Ampthill six months ago and looking to get back into MTB'ing, partly to build fitness and have some fun. I rode a bike yesterday for 1st time in about 6 years and did the Millbrook bridleways - I conclude I have lost my biking legs. I'd love to join you on some 'runs' once I've built up a bit of cycling fitness. I have this week off work so if anyones about in the day/eve for a leisurely saunter I'm up for exploring.

Happy birthday for Monday mate! I went over to chicksands today with a mate from work on my singlespeed with v-brakes and rigid forks. Was rather uncomfortable on the wrists but enjoyed the ride and glad that I made it after last nights disaster. Ws quite amazed to see kids with bikes costing a couple of grand going rather slowly and rolling around jumps! Seems such as waste.

Anyway more parts on the way (the postman must hate me) so hopefully Ill be out on Wednesday.

Dave's right the ride was really good and the perfect distance now it's dry.
Cheers Dave for finding the puncher in the dark, lesson learned never go out without spare inner tube. Thank god Dave had his new Exposure Race MaXx-2 Light to keep him entertained in the woods while i pumped up the newly fixed inner tube!
Poor Rob only got to Maulden before his bike gave in, as you can see from the pics (not good) there’s always next week!

I'll see you all on Wednesday next week as it's my Bday on Monday, so I will not be fit for anything!
